Germany follows Central European Time (CET), or during daylight saving time it becomes Central European Summer Time (CEST). The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt PTB is responsible for realising and disseminating legal time within Germany.
German clocks switch back and forth from standard time to daylight saving time every year at the end of March and October – this process is known as Zeitenwende.
Winter

August is often sunny and hot, yet can also be humid enough to cause discomfort for some in cities and urban areas. Over time however, humidity will gradually reduce until its end of August.
September is an unpredictable month with pleasant, warm days alternating with chances of rain, often caused by Atlantic depressions that bring unsettled conditions to much of Germany.
October can be an enjoyable month with sunny and dry weather – similar to September but without as many crowds. October is an ideal month for experiencing Munich’s iconic Oktoberfest; hotel booking should begin six months in advance for optimal experience.
Autumn begins astronomically on September 23 and can be an entrancing month of long sunny days and vibrant hues in the countryside. However, there remains the chance of rain showers in some places and as winter nears more people choose spring or summer visits over autumn ones – you might just find good deals on accommodation and flights!
Fall

Summer in Germany (known as Sommer) runs from June through late August and is the warmest season. You can explore Germany’s iconic castles without crowds of visitors while experiencing some of its warmest temperatures; but be mindful to bring an umbrella and jacket just in case it rains heavily during your visit!
